Tootsie update
Tootsie gave us a little scare this weekend. She started to get sick. But she is better now. We believe that everything was just stressing her out. this morning she was back to her old self. The puppies are growing like a weed. They have doubled their birth weight and are moving around some. Mom does not leave their side too much. Just enough to stretch her legs some and get some loving herself.
Vienna Update
Well this morning Vienna woke up and can not get settled. She is pacing and growning. Took her temp and she is down to 98.9. So it appears that she is in the early stages of labor. It looks like we could have another long night ahead of us. She is wanting to be held and close to everyone.

Vienna starting to show signs?
I started taking Vienna's temp today and it is at 100.1. So it appears it is on it's way down. Will check again tonight before putting her to bed. According to all calculations we should have a New Years Eve birth. Let's hope.
Tootsie's litter day 6
Tootsie's litter is growing like a weed. They are getting bigger everyday. She is a great mom. Normally females are little smaller than the males but not our girl . She is keeping up with her brothers. Will take new pictures in a day or so. We love to give mom the first week with not much interuptions.

Vienna's litter
Vienna's litter is expected around Dec 31st. We think it would be exciting to ring in the New Year watching her babies be born. She is a black based red and the dad is our Dusty a clear red. Both are smooth coats. We are very excited to see what puppies we have. This is Vienna's second litter. The first she had 3 puppies. Vienna's mom is Peanut. She is the one that started Collins Doxies. Peanut is now a family pet and has been taken out of the breeding rotation.
Tootsie
Tootsie is our black n tan Piebald smooth hair female. She had her puppies on Monday, December 22,2008. It was a long night but well worth it. Her labor was easy but she was scared because this was her first litter. You would not know that by the way she is taking care of her puppies. She had 3 males and 1 female. The Sire to the litter is Oscar our black n tan smooth hair. He is the one I use as our blog picture. We have a chocolate n tan smooth hair male with a white streak on his chest, a black n tan smooth hair male with white streak on his chest, a black n tan smooth hair female with white streak on her chest and a black n tan male with no white on his chest ( a hold has been placed on him, his name is Baxter). They will be ready to go home on February 16, 2009. You can see more pictures of them at collinsdoxies.com.

First let me introduce ourselves. We are Ben and Melissa Collins along with my boys, we run Collins Doxies. We are a small breeder in East Tennessee. We recently bought out another breeder and have expanded our family. We have smooth hair and long hair, in a variety of different colors and patterns such as piebalds and dapples. We have recently got into English Creme's and expect our first litter this Spring/Summer. We raise the dogs in our home and treat each dog as they are a member of the family. We believe that we have a responsibility to meet the future family members of our puppies so we have made it a policy that we will not ship our puppies. You can see our babies at Collinsdoxies.com.
Thank you
